In my work, I deal with the repetitive of everyday life. The personal items and relationships within the walls of the home. A kitchen knife, a set table, a father telling his son to sit up straight. Subtle moods in the ordinary that sharply cuts through the room.
\nI work with temporary and fragile materials like bread and pasta and cast them in plastic.
\nThe plastic becomes the toxic and the artificial. The forced smile and the well-ironed fabric of a new dress.
\nThe dinner is the space where everything becomes visible. The different moods and roles within the family: who cooks, who eats, who speaks, and who remains silent.
\nThe bread is both the flesh and body, fundamental in the daily existence.
\nOne man\u2019s death is another man\u2019s bread.
