In this work the surface of the film is examined not as a window but as a thin shell that both reveals and conceals. I\u2019m seeking to dissolve the tradition of film, fragmenting, stretching, and losing its role as a surveyable whole.<\/p>\n
With blend mode, shadows and stillness, a play between the visible and invisible (a visible invisibility) is created to determine how two layers blend with each other. It’s not about revealing something specific but rather approaching the very mechanisms behind hiding, concealing and withholding. To choose what to include is also to exclude. In this space and material exploration of the body of the film, new ways of seeing or perhaps rather\u2026.new ways of not seeing are formed.<\/p>\n
