My need to escape reality. I explore this theme through my earliest memories of it. It occurs in the breakdown of space and memory. The floor plan no longer aligns and has lost its purpose, a ruin in memory.
\nThe angled wall, the square TV, the moon, the curtain covering the window. The TV screen is a peaceful and safe window, a way to isolate oneself, disappear and silence thoughts. The constant discussion in my head. It\u2019s my own voice, but I lack control.
\nCreating becomes the mediator, the communicator and the outlet.
\nI look at reliefs. They are attached. The subjects are fixed; I am fixed. We relate but are not the same. I want to get in; they want to get out. To disappear into something else, with the relief as the gateway to it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
