SOILMATE is a modular, multifunctional trolley designed to support small-scale agriculture and primary production both in Sweden and globally. With adaptable features such as adjustable height and wheel width, it is also designed with the ability to mount a variety of tools, making it flexible for diverse farming tasks.<\/p>\n
The development of the design is based on practical farm work, shaped by interviews and intercultural exchanges with small-scale farmers across Europe, Nepal, Colombia and Mexico, and aims to improve the working conditions, ergonomics, and accessibility for agricultural workers. <\/p>\n
Built on open source principles, SOILMATE invites farmers, makers and communities to freely access, adapt, and improve the design. Technical drawings and building instructions are shared openly, encouraging a culture of collective learning and innovation. By using this approach, SOILMATE supports the reappropriation of traditional knowledge and the application of modern know-how, fostering technical autonomy and reinforcing the sovereignty of small-scale producers.<\/p>\n
