Corpus Hystericus<\/em> explores silversmithing through non-precious metals and gemstones. As a student in the Jewellery and Corpus field, I couldn\u2019t afford silver, so I worked with more affordable, non-precious metals such as copper, brass, nickel silver, and steel. During my early years of study, I saw my works as sketches or “fake” because they weren\u2019t made of real silver. At Konstfack, that idea changed. I have studied the materials I work with, their connection to Swedish craft history, and the contemporary corpus field. <\/p>\n

For me, it is important to merge the strict craftsmanship of traditional silversmithing with the more expressive approaches of contemporary practice. My works are made from recycled materials\u2014thrifted plates and trays or scrap metal from Konstfack\u2019s recycling. I collect and cut my own stones.
