Sometimes I thought about my hands. My hands that pipette, push buttons, write exams, calculate and count. When they were really supposed to be doing something else. I knew that. I knew it all the time.

Is it possible to stop trying to understand who you are, if you just get busy enough with something else? How does making something difficult your own change you?

What Counts is a graphic novel about hoping to stop longing to make art. About walking past a pizzeria and remembering who you once were, trying to divide something by zero over and over again, thinking about forgetting everything and getting together with a Key Account Manager and not being able to make eye contact in a windy Stockholm. A story about going on and on, even if you don’t know if it will work.
