Leon Mendoza

This work deals with my relationship to the Botkyrka Konsthall centre for contemporary art. I am writing an academic paper about the art gallery, and how it creates an identity over time. My interest originates from my childhood in Botkyrka, and my own experiences surrounding the art gallery. Its, for me, constant presence, a natural element, an unwavering art institution in the community, is something that makes itself felt now that I have been invited to exhibit there. I have become close to Botkyrka and its art institution now, when I no longer live in the area. This experience is what my essay is about.
My work consists of an installation with artefacts taken, borrowed, from Botkyrka. Artefacts that I create and that I take with me from my experiences of returning.
