Memories of Stockholm

My project explores how weaving can translate personal experiences and memories of Stockholm into physical form. Through a slow, contemplative process, it captures the transient nature of urban moments.

I approach the city as both an outsider and a resident—observing its light, colours, and seasonal shifts. By documenting my experiences through sketches, photography, and writing, I trace subtle emotional impressions of my daily life.

By using blurred details in the mohair weave, I disrupt photorealistic representation to reflect the haziness of memory. Nails are embedded into the surface to trace fleeting shapes of light and shadow, capture the moment of something that has already disappeared. Framing the work and concealing the selvedge and fringes, I invite viewers to connect with it on a visual and emotional level, rather than focusing on its technical method.
