Trophy Girls is a collection of short animated clips that together depict young women’s experiences of encountering the world’s expectations surrounding sexual and social contexts.

The work is based on a personal memory from a dance competition, a period of my life when I was first confronted with the opinions of others about my appearance and behaviour. These short clips tell the story of this exciting yet uncomfortable phase in life and the constant expectation placed on women to perform.
