“I would like to die lying on my back on the forest floor”.

My degree project aims to create a dialogue around death, burial practices and the choices we can and perhaps should be able to make about our own and our loved ones’ bodies after death.

I have collected anonymous people’s thoughts and wishes about what they want to happen to their bodies after they die. There is a clear trend in which many people want to return to nature in various ways. I have portrayed these wishes by making both wearable and sculptural objects in metal where nature is allowed to take over the body and where the body is allowed to become part of nature.

I hope my work will invite reflection and dialogue on both personal and societal aspects of death and burials.
