Learn_AR is an augmented reality educational tool, designed specifically for elementary school students and their teachers. The project is rooted in the interdisciplinary fields of Industrial Design and User Experience and further shaped by studies in Design Ecologies at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. Learn_AR aims to address significant challenges in traditional educational methods by enhancing engagement, supporting diverse learning styles, and promoting interactive and personalised learning experiences. This is achieved through AR technology that overlays digital information onto the real world, making learning both fun and informative. This degree project not only facilitates a deeper understanding of complex subjects through immersive visualisation but also fosters curiosity and a sustainable approach to education, preparing students for future learning environments.
Dilan Buddhakorala has studied one year at Konstfack within the framework of the MeDES programme (Master of European Design). This is an explorative project that is not a final degree project but that leads to the completion of the MEDes programme. More information at www.masterofeuropeandesign.com
