Unbound

Traditional bust support often relies on rigid structures, wires and seams that often sacrifice comfort for control. Unbound challenges these norms by exploring how elasticity, biomechanics and material innovation can create support garments that are both effective and adaptive.
My degree project examines the historical evolution of bust support to uncover if “lost” solutions from the past can be used to provide support that could be beneficial today. By integrating insights from textile engineering, structural design and user-centered research, Unbound experiments with materials and works with the natural shape of the body to create a supportive garment that can redistribute weight without restricting the wearer.
Unbound seeks to redefine how intimate apparel interacts with the body by moving beyond rigid constraints toward fluid, responsive support. By merging history with future-facing design Unbound envisions a new paradigm; a bust support that feels less like an imposition and more like a seamless extension of the body.
