Anna Haikara

In 2004, a photograph was taken during a cultural survey of Laxå’s municipal housing. The image captures a room that no longer exists, holding a story that reflects the fate of many small towns at the end of the 20th century.

The photograph is central to my project, exploring what lies behind the recognizable objects in the image. Its two-dimensional forms have been transformed into new furniture and interior elements—a tribute to a lost room.
