The Immigrants’ Banquet explores the citizenship ceremony at Stadshuset, where new Swedes are welcomed with Swedish traditions while their own cultural heritage remains absent. My degree project challenges the growing emphasis on assimilation over integration by reimagining the ceremony. Drawing from Stadshuset’s architecture, I have woven in ornamentation that symbolises immigration, creating a dialogue between belonging and cultural hybridity.
