I often get caught up in my thoughts, staring at details I’ve seen every day for many years. For a moment, the thing comes to life. We make a sort of connection and meet in a dialogue. This happened with the floor drain in my bathroom, as if it were a living being. It got clogged, the water seeped up through the drain, and for a second I was literally standing in a small pool, which covered my feet in the shower.
