Feel for Nature

For me, drawing is the foundation of my creative work. I think that drawing in general can be perceived as one of the most fundamental techniques in handmade creation. By materialising my thoughts, I use drawing as a form of visual storytelling.

In my art, I study elements from nature, animals and humans. I am interested in the existential and emotional dimensions in the relationships between them, and I reflect on how they affect us and our understanding of our own place in the world.

In my degree project, I take a step further away from a creative process controlled entirely by my own hands. I want to examine how the handmade drawings are translated in the field of applied industrial art. I am curious how technical aids and machines can work as tools, as extensions of the human hand and as executor, with the ambition to create a dialogue between the handmade and the mechanical. To investigate this, I have designed a woven furniture fabric produced in collaboration with Ludvig Svensson, Interior Textiles, and a tufted rug in collaboration with Kasthall.
