The Last Act
The Last Act is the resolution of the bream and humanity’s story. The bream has been forced to leave its home in the Baltic Sea, moving onto land as a consequence of overfishing, environmental destruction, and the collapse of marine ecosystems. The story serves not only as an allegory for humanity’s relationship with animals and their ongoing exploitation, but also as a depiction of loneliness, transformation, and adaptation.
Inspired by surrealism and dreamlike environments, the space becomes a perception shaped by manipulated textiles, structures, and light. The work not only portrays a fictional narrative but also challenges humanity’s relationship with the sea.
