In the Vein, a River

The moon is a circle, until I cut it in half; it becomes a mountain and a valley. In my bedroom or in the studio, I grab what is close at hand and repeat. I feel a slow force hitting me and other frequencies start to vibrate.

Charlie Vince Jakobsson (he/him, b. 2000) is a graduating student at the Master’s Programme in Fine Art. In Jakobsson’s practice, traditional painting methods resonate with everyday materials and objects which act as scores in the painting process. Through cutting, assembling and covering, his work consistently engages with how subtle shifts in everyday life can operate as acts of resistance and resilience.
