Infinite Picnic

Infinite Picnic explores the speculative and spontaneous emergence of temporary structures, unfoldability, and an open-ended approach to spatial design. It is a nonlinear process of playful assembly and intuitive reconfigurations. Through an explorative and artistic research process, based on the creation of ambiguous objects and their subsequent placement within a spatial context, Infinite Picnic investigates the characteristics of an open form and searches for new possibilities within its endless realm. The picnic serves as a symbol in this project, representing a temporary, playful activity that unfolds into space and occupies it for a brief period only to be taken apart and placed elsewhere.

The objects in this project have been developed exclusively from discarded materials found at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. Infinite Picnic engages with the idea of a new aesthetic, where found materials, through labour-intensive work and (re)composition, are transformed into objects with new meaning and value.
