Us! is a film about voice, participation and claiming space. Johanna, Viktor, Sara, Sam, Kofi and Paulina are participants at a day activity centre in Bredäng who create their own films, sharing stories that are important to them. Meanwhile I, Paula, a student at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, document their creative processes. My degree project explores the use of film as a tool for visibility and active engagement in a democratic society. Us! is a film about making one’s voice heard and claiming a place in the world on one’s own terms.
